Born from the Chaos of NCAA NIL Changes
When the NCAA changed its NIL rules in July 2021, it was a watershed moment for college athletics. For the first time, over 500,000 student-athletes could profit from their name, image, and likeness. But the opportunity came with a massive problem: no one was ready.
Athletes were signing contracts they did not fully understand. Compliance officers were drowning in spreadsheets trying to track deals across hundreds of athletes. Coaches were worried about inadvertently violating rules that were still being written.
Our founding team experienced this firsthand. Jordan, a former D1 athlete, watched teammates struggle with contract management. Taylor, a compliance officer, was spending 60+ hours a week on manual review processes that should have been automated.
We founded NIL Pipeline in 2023 with a simple mission: give athletes the tools they need to manage their deals professionally and give compliance teams the visibility they need to protect their programs. And we made a promise from day one: NIL Pipeline will always be free for athletes.
